SALI University – Update

September 1, 2018

With Librarian 2018-07-23

What a joy to write you this morning and report what the Lord is doing in the life of our students and how He is using our graduates in the kingdom work. At the beginning of this year, as a team we have been praying that the Lord will send enough students to fill the new
dormitory building. I am so happy and thankful to report this year we have the highest number of enrollments. There are thirty-nine students enrolled at our Institute this year, going through the three-year training program. All our former graduates are actively involved serving their own community, just as the Master said, being a light and showing the way to all around them. Below is the picture of our students with the Librarian. Reading and learning open the minds and heart, we consider it as a privilege to invest in the life of these young people and build them up as responsible citizen of the society. This is our way of giving back to our fellow citizens. Join us in this journey!

SALI University – Update

June 25, 2018

SALI_University

Another academic year is here! Thank you for your continued support for this work of the Lord. We are expecting over fifteen new students this new school year.  They come from different ethnic and language group with a commitment to study the word and serve the people in their community. These students are surrendering the temporary pleasures of life and dedicating their life for things that have eternal value. Most of us are familiar with Jim Elliot’s famous quote, “he is no fool who parts with that which he cannot keep, when he is sure to be recompensed with that which he cannot lose.” In 1956, Jim’s conviction was ultimately realized when he was murdered by the Aucan Indians in the jungles of Ecuador. None of us may be murdered because of our faith, but all of us have our faith tested by the pain and loses that we face. I am convinced that our life is a continual surrender of temporary things and I pray for grace that we remain committed for things that last forever. As we receive new students to the campus for three years of training and preparation, let us remember the former graduates for the Lord to use them to bring light to those in darkness.

The SALI Campus now has a new front gate, which was completed as part of the first phase of campus development.  The students will be occupying the new dormitory! I am amazed by what the Lord is doing! All our graduates are on the front line, a shining light to the darkness around, giving hope for the lost and sharing the joy of eternal life. Be encouraged. May God give you the strength to climb the mountain before you and reach your destiny!

SALI Graduation

May 6, 2018

Southern Asia Leadership Institute

I am so excited about the vision of Southern Asia Leadership Institute continues to come to pass and take on brick and mortar. The graduation ceremonies that occurred last month marked the 3rd graduation of students to graduate. This year we had seven students graduated after three years of leadership and theological studies and all of them are headed to their home community to pursue ministry opportunities. A tradition that is already been established is the welcoming of previous years graduates to the campus for the graduation festivities and leadership training seminar. This leadership seminar is part of our continued education program for those who are in ministry.

The graduation picture above is Rajesh James, the valedictorian of the year.  Rajesh and his parents were Hindus, he come from a very poor background, his father; a bus driver could hardly support the family.  Few years ago, Rajesh’s mother was bitten by a poisonous snake and she was admitted to the hospital. Just about the same time Rajesh was also admitted to the hospital with hepatitis. Rajesh and his mother were critically ill. However, they were not able to get the necessary treatment because they could not afford to pay the hospital bills. They had no one to turn to or no one to help. After several days, the family came to an agonizing decision to end their life. His father went and bought some poison, Rajesh still remembers his mother in tears. As they were preparing to take the poison, Rajesh’s uncle, who is the only Christian in their whole family, walked in and shared the Gospel with them. This is the first time they are hearing about Jesus. Rajesh and his parents accepted Jesus they were totally both healed. So, I asked Rajesh, why he decided to go into the ministry?  He told me, “I wanted to do something for Him who did miracles in our lives, and saved us when we were about to die”. This young boy, decided to spend the rest of his life serving Jesus who saved him and transformed his life. Rajesh came to us three years ago, we took him in, trained him and discipled him for three years and is entering in Lord’s vineyard’s this year! What a beautiful transformation!

I continue to be amazed by what the Lord is doing in us and through us. The scripture remind us not to despise the small beginnings. This ministry started at a very small level is now bringing many souls to the kingdom and bring glory to the name of our Lord.  I am very mindful that we cannot do this alone and your support and prayers are very essential to fulfill the call on our lives.  I certainly covet your continued prayers for His presence on our life as we follow the vision. I thank God for each of you and make mentions of you in my prayers. Thank you for your support for the next generation of young leaders among the massive harvest in India and your partnership in this ministry!

Salt and Light

December 23, 2017

Christmas_Jesus_Christ

May you be blessed during this season of celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

As we celebrate the season, let us remember the words of the angel, “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people”. The Lord is miraculously using the graduates of SALI in different parts of India to bring good tidings of great joy to all people in different parts of India. We continue to train students in our three-year program, making disciples for Christian ministry and service to their fellow citizens.

We are so excited about what the Lord has done in us and through us this year. I am delighted to tell you that the construction of the student dormitory is completed and we expect the students to move in to the new dormitory next month!  This is great news and an answer to our prayers!  All glory and praise belong to the Lord our God.  Thank you for partnering alongside us and helping to make this a reality.

We would like to be a light to those who are in darkness and salt to those who are around us for we know that God wants to touch and change the lives of the billion people. We are honored to partner with Him on this journey. We are committed to discipleship and training leaders of integrity. As we approach the end of 2017, I would like to challenge you to make an investment in charitable missions.

Where’s Your Treasure?

November 17, 2017

Treasure_IGTMission

During my last trip to India, I had the opportunity to minister and speak to a group of Christian
leaders. Everywhere I went during this last trip, I noticed that people are very anxious and
concerned about tomorrow. People are searching, yet many of them don’t know what they are
searching. However, these Christian leaders I spoke to were very joyous, hopeful and excited
about tomorrow. They have very little material possessions, but they have joy in their heart that
no one can destroy or steal from them. This reminded me of what Christ said to his disciples “Do
not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves
break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not
destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart
will be also”.

The graduates of Southern Asia Leadership Institute I met at this conference do represent these
values. They pursue something greater than themselves. We started building the student
dormitory at the campus over a year ago. It is nearing completion and ready for occupancy for
the students. We hope to train and graduate many more students who will be a beacon of light
and make a difference to the community around them.

Leadership Conference

October 11, 2017

IGTMission_Leadership_Conference

We had a very successful leadership conference in North India. We had two hundred fifty Christian leaders attended the three-day conference. The presence of God was so strong and in our midst that people were dancing and joyfully praising God! The word of God was so powerful no one wanted to leave the tent. We had three sessions everyday: at 8:30 and 11:30 in the morning and 4:30 in the evening. We had limited facilities, hot weather, a poor sound system and light, but none of these things deterred the people from staying through all the sessions all day. We could literally feel and see the manifested presence of the Lord. You can see the crowd worshiping the Lord joyfully and gratefully in the attached pictures. Many were healed, strengthened and encouraged. I vividly remember one pastor who came and gave his testimony. He said that he had been pastoring a church for the last three years, but had become discouraged and tired and decided to quit the ministry. On the way to his parents’ home, he decided to come and attend the pastor’s conference. During the first evening session, the Lord spoke to him as he was listening the word. He was encouraged and decided to return to his church and continue pastoring and ministry.

One of the most joyful times for me was seeing five of our SALI graduates who currently minister in this region in attendance at the conference. All of them talked with me and shared their story. Three of our graduates are now pastoring churches in their home communities and two are assisting pastors in churches. This is the testimony of our efforts: for three years we trained them, discipled them, fed them, clothed them and sheltered them. All they know is what we taught them, and now they are in the vineyard of the Lord and what they are doing has eternal value!
